GROUNDCOVERS

Groundcovers make a great living mulch around and in front of larger plants. They block weeds, shade and enrich the soil as debris from the low-growing plants decomposes, and even help water penetrate by following the roots down into the soil.

Choosing plants with varying heights means varying root depths.  In order for weed seeds to germinate and establish, they'd need to compete with root systems present

throughout several layers of soil.

Diverse textures, colors, and bloom times enrich your landscape and provide food and habitat for a wider array of wildlife species.
