Spiky, purple flowers June through September.
 
Height: 1-3' tall and 6-12" wide.
 
Sun: Full sun.
 
Soil: Medium to dry moisture. Great for sandy, rocky, dry, or poor soils. Does not like rich soils.
 
Wildlife Value: Attracts hummingbirds, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators. Birds eat the seeds. Drought tolerant. RARE in Ohio.
